This week, on Tuesday, we will begin our Math portion of the SBAC. Students may feel nervous about the test. Assure them they know what is on the test and have been practicing all year. They may also be a bit irritable at the end of the day. Allow for time to play, eat plenty of healthy snacks, and get plenty of rest. I am not giving any homework so that the class can prepare their minds at home.
This week we start our next integrated unit (joining Science and Language Arts). We will be working on a big project with biomes and adaptation. Most work will be done at school, but students may need to finish at home if they fall behind. We will be working on our last Informative Writing piece before we move on to Opinion. This week we will get to dissect owl pellets to better understand the food chain/web. We will get a short time at the library at the end of the day on Thursday.
A few items for your attention:
- Our class is in need of paper towels, if you are able to donate.
- Spring Beautification Day is this Saturday, I would love to see some of you there!
- I am in need of the supermarket circular papers for a class project. If you could send them in so that the class has plenty of food pictures to choose from, I would appreciate it!
