This past week we finished our unit in Science on Rocks and Minerals. I have been working with the class on a study guide and have been encouraging them to study at home. We take the test this Tuesday, which was developed by the district as an interim assessment.
Another interim assessment we will be taking is in Math on Numbers and Operations in Base 10. This is the basics we have been learning over the past few months. It will cover adding, subtracting, rounding, place value, multiplication and division. This will be taken on computers in the same system as the SBAC test. We will be finishing Chapter 5 in our math book and testing on Thursday, with a Performance Task on Friday.
Among the many areas we are wrapping up, we also finished our integrated unit on the California Native Americans. The class did an excellent job on their presentations. I did not help them in any way, and first saw their work as they presented. They made sure to only show the type of housing researched and the natural resources matched the region. (No tepees, or apple tress!)
Finally, I want to thank all of those who served, or are still serving, our country. Happy Veterans' Day to you!
