This past week was busy and short! We had our first Phsychomotor class on Monday, started the first unit of Language Arts, took our first Math test, Spelling test, and Comprehension test, and finished our first lesson in Social Studies. We also had our Back to School Night, and it was great to meet so many of you!
If we thought last week was short, this week is even shorter with no school on Monday OR Thursday. We will be covering the usual material in Language Arts and will be having a Spelling and Comprehension test on Friday. I am also sending an extra packet of Math for homework on Wednesday since the class needs a lot of extra practice in rounding. You will also be reciving the corrected tests from last week on Wednesday to sign and return on Friday.
On Tuesday I will explain the Unit Project to the class and send home a packet explaining what they are doing and what they have been assigned. Each student will research and then teach the class about one of the California native plants. Please look over the packet and send back the signed bottom half of the last sheet so that I know you are aware of your child's assignment. You have until the week of September 30th to work on this.
I also want to take a minute to congratulate Jenna and Robert, who have been elected our Representatives for Student Council this year. I know they will do an excellent job!
