This week is just as busy. We are starting our last story of the unit (how can that be?!), so next week will be our testing week. We have finish units of measurement, and will be starting to learn about the metric system. On Wednesday, we will be attending the BMX show for the See's Fundraiser. Then, on Friday we will hardly be in class with our rescheduled time to practice the Smarter Balance test, Computer Lab, Science Lab, and Student of the Month Assembly where the Science Fair will be explained to the students.
This Thursday we will be going on our Spring field trip to the California Science Center to see the Space Shuttle Endeavor. We will be leaving at 8:30 in the morning, so please be sure to bring your child to school on time so that we can eat breakfast, use the restroom, and get on the bus in a timely manner. If you are packing a lunch for your child, please remember that there is no refrigeration and all containers need to be disposable. Students should be in dress code so that they can be easily identified, with comfortable walking shoes. Backpacks, electronics, and money will not be needed for this trip. Our school has been given 160 tickets to attend the exhibit. With all 6 classes going, plus the teachers, we are very limited on allowing parents to join us. I already have a second chaperon attending, so I will not need any parent volunteers this time. We plan to be back around 2:00. If you have not already sent in the permission slip, please do so within the next 2 days.
Lastly, I'd like to encourage you to participate in donating items for our class basket to the school auction. Our theme is LA Dodgers, and our parent liaison will be checking our donation box in the room often. Thank you in advance for your help in making our basket great!
